How to Apply for a Loan

To obtain an interest free loan through the Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association, the borrower must:

  1. Be of the Jewish faith.
  2. Have lived in the Dallas area for at least six months.
  3. Have an honest need.
  4. Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  5. Have the required number of guarantors for the type of loan being requested.
  6. Cannot currently have an outstanding DHFLA loan or be a guarantor on another DHFLA loan.
  7. Cannot be in bankruptcy.
  8. Be approved by the loan committee of the Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association.

  1. Must be at least twenty-on (21) years of age and preferably of the Jewish faith.
  2. At least one guarantor must be a current resident of the Dallas area and have lived here for at least one year. If a guarantor lives outside of the DFW Area, they must be a close family relative.
  3. Established, credit worthy, and capable of paying the full amount of the loan if the borrower fails to do so.
  4. Must give written consent authorizing the DHFLA to draw a credit report.
  5. May not be a rabbi, cantor, or director of a Jewish institution, or anyone else whose position depends on the goodwill of the community.
  6. May not be living solely on a fixed income such as Social Security, Welfare, etc.
  7. Cannot currently have an outstanding DHFLA loan or be a guarantor on another DHFLA loan.
  8. Cannot be in bankruptcy.
  9. Must complete and sign the following documents (required of each guarantor):
    • Information Release Authorization
    • Guaranty Agreement
