A Hand-up Not A Handout

"Two years into my college experience...

Law SchoolI realized that my dream was to move to New York, finish my education there, and start my career as a patent lawyer. However, New York and law school proved to be out of reach for my financial situation and without the loan I received from Dallas Hebrew Free Loan I would not have been able to see my dream come to life. Your loan has allowed me to follow that dream by helping me to pay for the great investment of a legal education. With only one semester to go, I cannot wait to start my career and I am so thankful to DHFLA for the role it has played in bringing me here in my life!

What a difference the loan we received has made in our lives!

We were struggling to make payments on basic necessities, food, gas, utilities.  The worries and stress day to day were a nightmare!

I recently completed an advanced degree and was expecting to quickly find work after years of hard study. Not in this economy! But the interest free loan my family received from Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association has given us a buffer.......while I am searching for employment and taking odd jobs to cover our expenses.

The total expense of college often entails much more than simply tuition...

"Paying for college is never easy. It is difficult to finance the total expense of college, which often entails much more than simply tuition. However, thanks to the Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association, I was able to complete my B.A. without imposing a debilitating financial strain on myself or my family. The money I received from the Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association while in college enabled me to focus on my studies rather than on paying for school. As a result, I was able to excel both in and out of the classroom; gaining experiences that have helped me get to where I am today, a Press Officer for the Consulate General of Israel in Houston."

Aaron Friedman

Aaron assumed his position recently. As the Press Officer, Aaron interacts regularly with local media outlets in order to educate and disseminate positive information about Israel. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Psychology. While in college, he was an active member in the University's Hillel, AEPi, and student Israel advocacy group Sooners for Israel. Aaron has visited Israel numerous times over the past few years, participating in Birthright, community service trips, and university studies.
